• Why did you join BFM and what do you plan to do after?

I chose BFM because I could connect with all the subjects and that was my field of interest since school days. BFM pretty much turned out to be the way I expected. I’m planning to do CFA after BFM as the topics are pretty much the same as that in BFM but they are looked at from a global perspective.

• How does it feel to be a Topper of the college in Semester exams?

It’s overwhelming; the efforts were paid off well.

• Whom will you credit your success to?

My mom has been a strong support to me since childhood. I give all the credit to my mom. Also I owe my success to my professors, who taught me everything that I know today. They’re a great influence. Also Google and Wikipedia.

• Did you start preparing from the first day of your SY?

Not really. I started studying pretty late but always took an interest in knowing all the concepts. So that helped.

• How did you study for Sem III?

Just know the concepts and its application well and try to relate it to the real world. That will help you a lot.

• Which are the easy subjects in Sem III?

In Sem III, I found Corporate finance and Equity markets very easy.

• Any special way of writing the answers? Do you write answers in bullet points or in paragraphs?

I prefer writing the answers in bullet points. It keeps the page clean and avoids confusion.

• How do you crack case studies in theory and practical subjects?

We haven’t had case studies in any subjects so far.

• Did you draw any diagram in any paper? Is it mandatory? Does it help to get more marks?

I draw diagrams wherever possible. That’s because it saves time and helps in fetching more marks.

• Any specific study pattern adopted i.e. timetable / how many hours per subject per day etc.?

When exams are approaching I study throughout the day. There’s no fix timetable as such. But I can study better during the day i.e. 8 am to 7 pm.

• How do you fight against mood swings and distractions during exam preparation?
  I try to calm down and do subjects which involve solving sums or I revise subjects which I’m already done with.  I don’t face much of these problems as I love studying.
• If you are made the Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, what changes would you like to initiate in Indian education system?

I would advise the professors to teach the students from a more practical point of view with as much live examples as possible, arrange for more field visits and training and preparation of the students for the corporate world.

• Many students prepare sincerely but constantly live under fear that they are not from big college / not from English medium and eventually lose confidence. What message would you like to these students?

Keep trying. Take help of others and solve your doubts. I would advise them to study from Day 1.

• Through this struggle and success, what have you learned? What is the wisdom of life and competition? What is your message to the upcoming BFM students?

While most are dreaming of success, winners wake-up and work hard to achieve it. Never give up is the only motto.
